Job Description

Sigma Transport is looking for professional and safety-focused Linehaul Drivers to join our team. We are seeking individuals who are dependable, organized, and committed to delivering freight safely and on time while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Sigma Transport is a Contracted Service Provider for FedEx operating out of the Seekonk Station. Our mission is to provide safe, timely, and professional transportation services that benefit both our customers and our drivers.

We are currently hiring for full-time, part-time, and weekend Linehaul Driver positions. Full-time drivers typically run 5 days per week with scheduled home time. Part-time and weekend drivers have flexible scheduling options based on route needs.

Compensation: Competitive daily and mileage-based pay

Preferred Qualifications

1+ year(s) of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience within the past 3 years (preferred but not required).
Prior experience with FedEx, UPS, or other LTL/linehaul carriers will be considered an asset.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (no DUIs, major violations, or preventable accidents within the last 3 years).
Pass a drug screen and background check.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and road test.
Knowledge of ELD (Electronic Logging Device) compliance and DOT regulations.
Ability to hook and unhook trailers safely.
Weekend and overnight flexibility may be required.

Responsibilities

Transport freight safely and efficiently between FedEx stations and hubs.
Hook, unhook, and inspect trailers as required.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer.
Complete and maintain accurate driving logs, trip reports, and paperwork.
Adhere to all DOT regulations, safety policies, and company procedures.
Maintain communication with dispatch and report delays or issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver packages promptly and safely to customer locations.

Lift and carry packages up to 150 lbs (team lifts available when necessary).

Perform daily inspections of delivery vehicles.

Load, unload, and prepare vehicles before starting routes.

Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports.

Comply with DOT regulations and all company safety standards.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs, major violations, or accidents within the last 3 years).

Must pass a drug screen.

Must pass a background check and verification process.

Must pass a road test in a delivery truck.

Ability to operate electronic handheld devices for navigation and package scanning.

Flexible availability on weekdays and weekends.

CDL not required.
